~BACKGROUND~

following the 2016 election, it became clear that health care would be the first thing on the republicans' chopping block. so, save my care was founded.

the save my care bus tour launched just prior to donald trump's inauguration in january of 2017 and lasted until mid-march of 2017. the goals of the tour were to raise awareness around the importance of the affordable care act and lift up the voices of everyday americans impacted by the law.

throughout the first tour, i served as digital director as the bus traveled 14,000 miles to 22 states, holding over 50 press conferences.

then, in the summer of 2017, despite multiple failed attempts at repealing the affordable care act, it became obvious that the republicans were not going to give up trying to take away health care for millions of americans.

save my care launched the drive for our lives bus tour in july of 2017, during the congressional august recess. this bus tour lasted five weeks and traveled nearly 7,000 miles to 30 cities from los angeles, california to washington, d.c.

~what i was responsible for~

on both tours, i served as the bus tour's digital director. i responsible for managing save my care's facebook page, twitter, and instagram account

at our events, i livestreamed and livetweeted, spoke with real people to collect their stories and eventually turn them into long-form posts, and wrapped up each event with a recap blog posted on the campaign's website. when we had principals on the bus, i was responsible for thinking through creative ways to highlight their time on the bus (and execute those ideas!), as well as creating content for their teams' to help promote and highlight the events.

in addition, i worked directly with hq and our consultants to manage our event build email and sms programs, grow our sms list, and create digital toolkits for partner organizations and principals to help build for our events and promote our content.

~WORK PRODUCT~

to grow our instagram account, we used principals and their networks to host takeovers while they were on the bus. this takeover was hosted by dnc chairman tom perez, who attended a rally in denver, colorado with governor john hickenlooper.
